Kangana Ranaut has signed on to play Chandramukhi in the Chandramukhi Sequal. The film is directed by P Vasu. This will be Kangana's Third Tamil Film after Dhaam Dhoom (2008) and Thalaivii (2021).
Kangana Ranaut will play the court dancer in P Vasu directed Chandramukhi 2. Which is a sequel to Jyothika and Rajinikanth's blockbuster horror-comedy film Chandramukhi (2005), the film will also star Raghava Lawrence.
The P Vasu-directed film will see the actor essaying the role of a dancer in the king’s court, who was known for her beauty and dance skills. Tamil actor Raghava Lawrence will play the lead role opposite Kangana in the film.'

As per the latest sources, Kangana will start shooting the first schedule in the first week of December.
“She will be taking a small break from Emergency and the second schedule of Chandramukhi 2 will commence in January after Emergency wrap.”
The source added that Kangana is thrilled about her next Tamil outing after Thalaivii, and looking forward to getting into the role of Chandramukhi. The source further added that Chandramukhi 2 is produced by Lyca Films, which helmed the recently released PS1.
Neeta Lulla who is the costume designer for the upcoming sequel also released a sketch of Kangana in Chandramukhi’s avatar. Talking about the same, she said in a statement -

Kangana Ranaut is currently shooting for the last schedule of Emergency. Later this year Kangana will start shooting for Chandramukhi 2. She also has Ekta Kapoor's LockUpp Season 2 and Tejas which is slated to release in the Summer of 2023.
Chandramukhi 2 is directed by P Vasu, Stars Raghava Lawrence, and Kangana Ranaut. Presented by Subhaskaran, Produced by Lyca Productions. Music by Keeravani sir. Cinematography by RD Rajasekhar sir. The film will release Next Year in 2023.
